He always strives to do his best and goes out of his way to keep clients happy and looking great. Besides working at the salon, he has appeared on "The Gail King Show", TLC's "A Makeover Story", and several local TV shows. Carmen joined us in 2007 and brings with her 23 years of experience in the hair and cosmetology industry. She is a graduate of the National Academy of Cosmetology. Working and going to school in California, NYC, and CT has made her into a phenomenal hair stylist and expert colorist. Adding to Carmen's arsenal, her talents include Japanese permanent relaxers, corrective coloring and wedding up dos. Carmen continues her education by going yearly to classes and shows in NYC, Miami, California and Las Vegas... "This is how I keep up with the latest trends." she says. Carmen loves this industry, she enjoys hearing her clients say "this looks fabulous" when she's done. That's what its all about "I love my job". Sophie joins Moda Rey Salon with a extensive artistic background. Not only is she artistically experienced with hair, she also teaches Fashion and jewelry design at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts. You may also find Sophie busy working with local theater production groups, styling musicians and DJ's, and setting up photo shoots with local artists. Her credits are Lez Zeppelin, the Shag Frenzy DJ's- Garage Flower and Johnny Strangler, Heartbeat Ensemble, the productions at the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, and Leigh FX. Angel joins Moda-Rey Salon & Spa with 20 plus years of experience under his belt. He is the former owner of "Off Limits Salon" in Hartford. Making the move to Moda-Rey was an easy transition for him given the long time friendship with Moda-Rey Salon owner Johnny Lavoy. In addition to being a talented hairdresser, Angel is also a amazing makeup artists. His up-styling is truly a work of art, leaving a countless number of brides feeling beautiful for their special day. Angel has also worked on photo shoots for the Hartford Stage Company, and with academy award winning actress Olympia Dukais.
Karen has been a stylist in Connecticut for over 20 years. She has extensive experience and training in corrective haircolor, cutting, special occasion hair design, and human hair extensions. Key to her success has been combining an artistic approach to the technical discipline of hair design. This skill is fine-tuned to each client so that the finished result enhances the individual's skin tone, eye color and personal style...whatever that may be. Marina joins Moda- Rey Salon & Spa with nine years of skill and experience in all aspects of skin care. She is a graduate of Kishinev Institute of Art and BRIO Academy of Cosmetology. Marina constantly continues her education at The International Dermal to insure her clients are getting the latest in products and services. Her extensive knowledge in skin care makes her one of the finest specialists in the field. Marina's skills are not limited to just facials, she also specializes in body treatments, waxing and pedicures.
As a skin care therapist Marina's mission is to customize and produce measurable results for each client every visit, as well as to educate customers on the benefits of proper skin care.
